Networks & Computer Architecture

A Grade 11 Information & Communication Technology textbook for Term 3. Two strands run side by side: thirty chapters on signals, media, topologies, addressing and the Internet (benchmarks 11.4.1.1 – 11.4.1.8), and ten chapters on computer fundamentals, assembly, installation, electronics and diagnostics (benchmarks 11.5.1.1 – 11.5.1.2).

Preface

This term unpacks how those networks actually work: the signals inside a cable, the shapes of a LAN, the reason a router is different from a switch, the way an IP address gets a packet to the right computer, and why 'the cloud' is just someone else's server.
